National Support School

The National College for Teaching and Leadership has designated The Inspire Multi Academy Trust as a National Support School (NSS) and the Headteacher, Aaron Meredith, as a National Leader in Education.

We are also very proud to have seven Specialist Leaders in Education (SLEs) across the trust. SLEs are system leaders who focus on developing leadership capacity and developing classroom expertise across the region.

National Leaders of Education are strong leaders, who have experience of effectively supporting schools in challenging circumstances. Along with staff in their school, National Leaders of Education, use their success and professionalism to provide additional leadership capability in other schools.

NLEs are deployed to suit the needs of each school needing support. In addition to running their own schools, NLEs work with their National Support School staff in schools that are facing challenging circumstances to raise standards. The type of support provided is flexible and is dependent upon the expertise of staff within the National Support School and the level of support required. NLEs also have responsibility for developing the next generation of NLEs and national support schools which helps to create further capacity and strong leadership in their own schools. The role centres around developing the capacity and capability of other leaders so that they have the skills to lead their own teams and improve practice in their own schools. This may be done through one-to-one or group support and could involve a variety of activities, such as:

• data analysis
• coaching
• facilitating and training
• joint action planning
