Year 2 had a surprise visitor today! Isambard Kingdom Brunel visited 2MK so we could learn more about the impressive engineer in connection with our project ‘Famous People from the Past’. This morning, we were lucky enough to hear from the man himself all about his life and his achievements. Then we became excellent engineers ourselves and made our own Clifton Suspension or Royal Albert Bridge. The children were tasked to add structures to the paper bridges to make them more sturdy. They were so fantastic they even received a certificate from Brunel. After lunch, we explored some Victorian artefacts, some over 100 years! Miss. Some of us were a little bit scared about what was going to happen! ... See MoreSee Less

He took their box of Christmas decorations and left some instructions and a story book. The instructions told them how to make a tree decoration! They followed the instructions and made some beautiful Christmas tree decorations! We can’t wait to explore the story ‘How to Catch Santa’ and use it to support our English lessons.
