School Uniform

At Tor Bridge Primary School we encourage the children to always take pride in wearing their school uniform. We find it gives the children a sense of belonging and unites us all behind a common identity. It also helps us to identify each other when we are out and about in the community.

Each child receives a complementary book bag when they start at the school.

School uniform is available to purchase online through www.price-buckland.co.uk. We have samples in the school office which you are more than welcome to try for size, please contact the school reception to arrange this.

We encourage the children to look after their belongings and we ask that you ensure that all of your child’s clothes are clearly marked with their name.

*In recent times we have become aware of many shoe manufacturers and companies selling types of shoes which we would consider to be a ‘trainer’, but are marketing them as ‘school shoes’.

We appreciate how difficult this can make things for families, so we have provided the table below to provide more specific guidance on what our school considers to be a school shoe and the types of shoes that would be deemed as a trainer. Shoes should be plain black and should not have any zip/chain details or other embellishments.

Should you at any point be unsure of a particular shoe, before purchasing them, please do not hesitate to contact the school office who will be able to assist you further.

We are committed to ensuring that our uniform is affordable for families and does not become a barrier to children attending school, participating fully in school life or families applying for a place at our school.
In line with Department for Education guidance on the cost of school uniforms, we keep branded items to a minimum and allow generic high-street or supermarket alternatives wherever possible. Items do not need to display the school logo unless this is specifically stated. For example, plain royal blue sweatshirts or cardigans and plain white polo shirts are accepted, provided they match the colour and style expectations set out above.

Second-hand & Pre-loved Uniform
We support families to access good-quality second-hand and pre-loved uniform wherever possible. The school keeps a supply of donated uniform, subject to availability, which may include sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, trousers, skirts, dresses and PE kit.
Families can request pre-loved uniform by contacting the school office or the Family Support Advisor.
We also welcome donations of clean, good-quality uniform that children have outgrown. Donations can be handed in to the school office during term time.

Support & Reasonable Adjustments
Our uniform expectations are reviewed in line with Department for Education guidance and our duties under the Equality Act 2010. We will consider reasonable adjustments or short-term flexibility where a pupil’s individual needs, disability, medical circumstances, religion or belief, sensory needs, financial hardship or other circumstances mean that a uniform requirement may be difficult to meet.

PE Kit

For PE, your child needs to wear their house colour t-shirt, black shorts/leggings/tracksuit bottoms and trainers/plimsoles please.
