Reception and Year 1 had a memorable visit to Estover Library today and were so fortunate to meet Naomi Jones, author of The Hug Button! During our visit, the children listened well and shared their thoughts on where they feel different emotions, like excitement in their tummies, sadness in their chest or butterflies in their stomachs. It was lovely to see them make connections between their feelings and the story. A big thank you to Estover Library and Naomi Jones for welcoming us and helping our children explore emotional resilience in such a kind and gentle way. 💖 Plymouth Libraries

Year 2 have been busy investigating Everyday Materials this week! ☔ The children explored which materials would make the best umbrella and even discovered that by using wax and heat, they could waterproof felt! After testing felt, tin foil and plastic, the children worked brilliantly together to design and make their own umbrellas. They were delighted to find that their creations repelled water — proving that all their chosen materials were up to the job! 💧✨
